the National Association of the Deaf is a civil
rights advocacy group for the deaf and is involved in educational and
professional issues of interest to the hearing impaired.

• the Alexander Graham Bell Association

• American Society for Deaf Children

• American Hearing Research Foundation

• the USA Deaf Sports Federation

• International Committee of Sports for the Deaf

• HEX--a bulletin board system for the deaf

  HEXa BBS run and written specifically for the hearing impaired by a department of Commerce employee during his spare time. It was the first BBS in the U.S. to offer both ASCII and TTD service.
